Since the Dreamtime the tribes from different areas gathered at designated meeting places which are marked by bora rings still preserved by the Aboriginal people. Here they celebrated their gatherings and the stories were told through songs and the playing of musical instruments such as the didgeridoo (yidaki) and clap sticks.
Jenadors Corroboree is a collaboration of work between renowned aboriginal artist, Arthur Conlon, Jennifer Benaim and Douglas Dingey. It is part of a collection of eight. Corroboree is limited to 25 pieces.
There are 415 pieces of opal = 4.22 carats.
This piece measures 150mm x 150mm (unframed). Can be framed on request at an additional charge.
Corroboree was created in four days.
The design of an image is etched into 4mm thick black glass. The etching is inlayed with Lightning Ridge, gem quality black opal that has been selected and cut for its brilliance and lustre. The finished piece is then framed and when mounted on a wall or perhaps a bench top with lighting directed on it, the image comes to life! A truly beautiful spectacular masterpiece.
